Inspired by Nanowrimo I bring you the antidote.
Three weeks of short stories of the sci-fi and fantasy kind, whether they be fanfiction or original works. The sort of stories you can curl up on the sofa with, while the weather does its worst outside, and can finish reading before your tea goes cold and your biscuit goes soggy in the saucer.
Three weeks?
Yes. This community will be open, annually, from the 1st December until the Winter Solstice (in 2012 that's the 21st December).
The Rules
-First and foremost, PLAY NICE
-Each story should be at least 100 words and at most 2,000
-You do not have to post a story every day
-If you want to post a story every day you may.
-Further to those, if you want to post separate chapters of a story over several days, you may as long as the TOTAL word count for the complete series is less than 2000 words.
-Gen, het and slash, of any rating, are all welcome
-Please put all posts behind a cut
-When posting please use a header that includes the fandom, pairings (if any), rating, spoilers, and warnings where appropriate
*inserts header code widget*
You all know the things to warn for, right? BDSM, graphic sex/violence, noncon,shmoop...
-Where relevant, please include the name of the prompter in your header - prompters are named in the Fandom Prompts lists and are visible on hovering over a picture in the Image Prompts post.
-Please tag your entries. You want people to be able to find them later, don't you? If there is no community tag already in place for your fandom or crossover please refer to Tagging, below
The Exclusions
-Please, no Real Person Stories of any kind
-No stories, het or slash, containing explicit sexual activity involving anyone beneath the age of consent. As far as I understand the Livejournal guidelines a minor is anyone under the age of 18.
Any problems
-You don't know how to make an cut tag work.
-Someone has flamed you/a troll has landed.

Tagging
If you have written a story in a fandom that does not already have a tag you have 2 tagging options:
"i need a tag"
OR
"fandom: Name of Fandom"
If you have written a crossover where both fandoms qualify for the community that does not already have a tag you may use either:
"i need a tag"
OR
"crossover: Fandom A/Fandom B" - ie. in alphabetical order.
If you have written a crossover where only 1 of the fandoms would qualify for the community then please list the sci-fi/fantasy fandom first.
If you've written a crossover across multiple fandoms we have a tag for that, it's "crossover: multiple!fandom".
